Who Wants Cereal For Lunch?!

A cereal cafe?

A cafe dedicated to CEREAL?

Yes you read right, and what better place than Shoreditch in London! Entering into this quirky establishment in East London, all kinds of cereal boxes from special K to Magic Charms are adorning the walls, to instantly bring back the memorabilia and transport even the biggest of kids (AKA me) back to our childhood!

The decor doesn’t stop here…

Right in the heart of this cafe, typical boring chairs have been replaced with beds to sit on! (Or lay on if you’re lazy like me 😉 ) Colorful crates are piled up against the walls with old fashioned TV’s placed in-between, where you can watch old school cartoons whilst waiting, such as the old Donald Duck cartoons.

To completely juxtapose this, even the name of the place itself has been cleverly devised…and check out these cereal artworks giving off those dark vibes!

As you would expect, the typical food options here are bowls of any kind of cereal that tickles your fancy. However, the twist here is that you can add an enormous assortment of toppings, mix any match cereals and choose from a variety of different milks (did I hear salted caramel milk?!)

Since I, myself am not the biggest cereal eater, I opted for a cereal based milkshake (to be honest I kind of just saw the word “Oreo” and couldn’t help myself!) It was colossal! A custard base which was an interestingly sweet change from the traditional ice cream bases, piles of whipped cream, crushed Oreo biscuit pieces and finished off with Oreo O’s cereal. (Only choose this if you are as obsessed as I am with chocolate and Oreo’s!)

I was originally contemplating trying a bowl of cereal with one of the bizarre milk options, however in hindsight I am so glad I didn’t (SUGAR OVERLOAD!) Instead I settled with mozzarella sticks with a crushed cereal coating. This was actually my first time trying the craze that is mozzarella sticks, and I was certainly not disappointed!

I was planning on just making a post soon on some of my favorite London cafe’s/restaurants…but I just had to give this one it’s own post and I think can you tell why!

So if you are in London or ever visiting, make sure to check out Cereal Killer Cafe on Brick Lane in Shoreditch for an alternative breakfast, lunch…or even dinner! They also have a second branch in Camden Lock which is certainly a quirky area to visit whilst in London also.

Let me know if anyone has tried it before or if you do visit it soon!
